The work
  • Selection is two computer-based stages: a 90-minute Preliminary of 100 MCQs and a 180-minute Main of 160 MCQs with one-third negative marking.
  • The Preliminary is qualifying only and the merit list uses the Main alone.
  • Nursing duties and shifts are not described in these notices.
Entry requirements
  • The posts ask for B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing or B.Sc. Nursing, or Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing, from an institute or university recognised by the Indian Nursing Council or a State Nursing Council, with registration as Nurse and Midwife.
  • A second route accepts a Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery plus registration and two years' experience in a hospital of at least 50 beds.
  • Age is 18 to 30 on the closing date of registration, with relaxations of 5 years for SC and ST, 3 years for OBC and 10 years for PwBD.
  • M.Sc. Nursing is not named in the notices read.
Trade-offs to consider
  • At participating AIIMS 80% of seats are reserved for women and 20% for men, there is one round of allocation and a candidate who does not join an allocated seat loses candidature for that NORCET, and place of posting and service conditions are decided by the participating AIIMS.
