Not established. The cited documents describe the entrance test and admission, not what designers do day to day.
Entry requirements
  • UCEED 2027 is open after Class XII from any stream if you appear for Class XII for the first time in 2026 or 2027.
  • Admission is stream-restricted at some institutes: the brochure lists IIT Guwahati and IIT Roorkee as needing Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, and IIITDM Jabalpur Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology, while IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore accept any stream.
  • The brochure sets age limits (born on or after 1 October 2002, or 1 October 1997 for SC, ST and PwD candidates) and allows at most two attempts, in consecutive years.
Trade-offs to consider
  • A UCEED score is valid only for admission in 2027-28 and does not by itself give a seat: you apply to each institute separately, and the 2027-28 fee structures are not yet published.
  • The 2026-27 fees and the seat acceptance fee are listed above.
  • At IIT Bombay and IIT Roorkee a B.Des student cannot move to another undergraduate branch.
