Short answer
A notice says what one employer wanted on one day, so read it for six things before you rely on it.
- Who set the rule, and which degrees are named.
- The small conditions: marks, backlogs, gaps and age.
- The contract and the dates.
- Whether anyone asks you for money.
On this page
A recruitment notice is the employer's own statement of what it wants for one post. It is not a law, and it may not be open any more.
The examples below are real notices from healthcare, law and software hiring that other pages on this site cite. Read the whole notice, not only the headline requirement.
1. Who is setting the rule
An employer's requirement is not a regulator's rule. A listing can name the degrees it accepts without that being a legal condition for the work.
This Medi Assist listing includes MBBS, BHMS, BAMS and B.Sc Nursing, with Indian registration mandatory and 0–3 years of experience.

From Insurance claims Medical Officer. Checked 21 Oct 2026. Next review 20 Nov 2026.
Scope of this sourceHide scope
- One employer listing; vacancy availability and exact registration requirements must be confirmed.
- Not a guarantee of eligibility or employment.
In plain words: This is one employer's list, not a rule for the whole profession.
Sometimes a court or regulator sets the rule, and the rule can depend on the date the notice was issued.
The Supreme Court’s 21 August 2026 judgment says that for recruitment notifications for Civil Judge (Junior Division) issued up to 31 March 2027, all law graduates shall be eligible to apply notwithstanding the three-year practice requirement, are deemed to have completed one year of active practice, and need not furnish a separate Certificate of Practice for that period.

Scope of this sourceHide scope
- The majority opinion of two judges; the third judge disagreed.
- A state may still be amending its rules, which the Court asked it to do within three months.
In plain words: Here the rule changes with the date of the notice, so the date matters.
2. Which degrees are named, and which are not
When a notice lists degrees, the ones left out matter as much as the ones named.
The TCS NQT page names B.Tech/B.E., M.Tech/M.E., MCA and M.Sc/M.S in any specialization as the only qualifications open for the 2024-2026 batches; BCA is not listed.

What this does not establish
- That any B.Tech branch is hired into software development roles
- the page says any specialization is eligible to apply.

- B.Tech/B.E. 'in any specialization offered by AICTE/UGC recognized universities/colleges' (branch wording as printed).
- BCA exclusion is by omission from an 'exclusively open to' list, not an explicit sentence.
HCLTech's freshers site names B.E./B.Tech and M.E./M.Tech (CSE, IT, EEE, ECE, Mechanical, Bio-Medical, Biotechnology etc.) for its technical roles; BCA and MCA are not named there.

4. The contract
Check how long the post lasts and what happens at the end. Short and funding-dependent contracts are common in research and public-health work.
The IPC/PvPI post is a short contract that can be ended at any time and renewed only on performance.

5. The dates
A notice can be withdrawn, amended or already closed. An expired listing shows what an employer asked once, not what it asks now.
A notice can be withdrawn: Kerala's 30.03.2026 notification was called off on 05.06.2026 in view of the Supreme Court's interim order of 22.05.2026 in W.P.(C) No.1110/2025, and because the amendment to the Special Rules incorporating the three-year practice requirement had not yet been formally effected.
