Can BCA graduates apply to TCS, HCLTech and Wipro?

Big IT employers run several hiring routes, and a route that names BCA sits beside one that does not. Here is what each employer's own pages say.

Short answer

Some employers name BCA for some routes and not for others, so the answer depends on the programme, not only the company.

TCS's main national test does not list BCA, but a separate TCS programme names it.
HCLTech's technical roles do not name BCA, while its graduate trainee track does.
Wipro's engineer-trainee posting does not name BCA, but its infrastructure programmes do, and a Cognizant trainee route names it.

In plain words: TCS names BCA directly for its Ignite programme. That is a different route from its main national test.

Each page below is the employer's own, and each answers for one route only. A degree that is not named is not stated to be excluded.

TCS: two routes, two answers

The national qualifying test lists who it is open to, and the Ignite programme lists its own graduates.

The TCS NQT page names B.Tech/B.E., M.Tech/M.E., MCA and M.Sc/M.S in any specialization as the only qualifications open for the 2024-2026 batches; BCA is not listed.

What this does not establish

That any B.Tech branch is hired into software development roles
the page says any specialization is eligible to apply.

BCA exclusion is by omission from an 'exclusively open to' list, not an explicit sentence.

TCS BSc Ignite requires 50% aggregate in class 10, 12, diploma and graduation, and no backlog at the time of the selection process.

Wipro's early-careers page says its WIMS (Wipro Infrastructure Management Services) and WASE programmes are for non-engineering graduates and offer BCA and B.Sc. graduates work with a sponsored M.Tech.

Cognizant: a service-desk trainee route

Cognizant's 2026 fresher document for the Service Desk Analyst Trainee names 3-year UG degrees (BCA, B.Sc, BA, BBA, B.Voc, BMS, B.Com and others) for 2025 and 2026 graduates; B.E./B.Tech is not among the degrees it lists.

the phrase '3-year UG degree' describes the eligible group, and a 4-year B.E./B.Tech is not a 3-year degree, but the document does not say so. MCA not named.

In plain words: This route names three-year degrees including BCA, and it asks for minimum marks at every stage.

One route some BCA graduates consider: MCA

Some employer lists above name MCA. Admission rules for MCA differ by test, so check the one you want.

MAH-MCA-CET 2026 accepts any graduation degree and names B.E./B.Tech., B.Sc., B.Com., B.Voc. and BCA.

The brochure's schedule is marked provisional.

Admission to MCA at the thirteen NITs and IIITs covered by NIMCET for 2026-27 is based only on the NIMCET-2026 rank, so the NIMCET test is a mandatory credential for that route.

A web search found no official NIMCET 2027 brochure yet (secondary sites expect March 2027).

Scope of this source

NIMCET-2026, admission year 2026-27, 11 NITs and 2 IIITs (Bhopal, Vadodara).
Eligibility to sit the test: 60% aggregate (55% SC/ST/PwD) in B.E./B.Tech or in any UG programme of minimum three years with Mathematics/Statistics as one subject.

In plain words: One test names BCA directly. The other is a rank-based route with its own marks and subject conditions.

What this does not mean

A name on a list is not an offer, and a name left off is not always a rejection. Some of these claims say a degree is simply not named.

Employers change their routes each year. Open the page and check its date before you rely on it.

Is my degree named for this exact programme, or only for another one? What marks, backlog, gap and age conditions apply?

Does the process charge any fee? Ask the employer in writing and keep the reply.
