Entry requirements
  • The GATE 2027 brochure says a student in the third year or higher of an undergraduate degree, or a graduate, in engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts or humanities, can sit GATE. It states no age limit.
  • Admission to an M.Tech programme is then decided by each admitting institute.
Trade-offs to consider
  • Qualifying in GATE does not guarantee admission, a scholarship or a job.
  • For students admitted with financial assistance, institutes must give GATE at least 70% weightage.
  • Pay after M.Tech is not established here.
