Reality check

From the sources
The work
  • IIMC's regional campuses offer one-year PG Diploma programmes aimed at jobs in mass media and communication, and IIMC says its diploma students are prepared for journalism, advertising, public relations and creative writing.
  • It states that it does not guarantee jobs to its students.
Entry requirements
  • IIMC asks for graduates in any discipline for its PG Diploma programmes and a Bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 55% for its MA programmes, and final-year students may apply.
  • IIMC's notice prints the CUET (PG) paper code as COQP17, while NTA's CUET (PG) 2026 bulletin lists Mass Communication and Journalism as COQP21, so check the code before you choose a paper.
  • The PG Diploma has an upper age limit and the MA has none.
Trade-offs to consider
  • IIMC states it does not guarantee jobs.
  • Its programmes are full-time and students may not hold another job, 75% attendance is needed to sit a semester's examinations, and fees are charged semester by semester in advance and stay fixed for the programme.
